First Steps fully inclusive Fees and charges

 FEES & PAYMENTS:

A non-refundable registration fee of £75 is required when enrolling to secure the booking. This will include two settling in sessions to be agreed with the manager, your nursery welcome pack and all administration. In addition, we request a £200 refundable deposit. This is fully refundable when you give the required notice period following a minimum of 6 months attendance at the nursery.

Fees apply for all paid for sessions regardless of illness or holiday, including the inclusive or non-inclusive packages (see below)

As a setting, we are not required by law to offer the EY funding. However, First Steps Day Nursery recognise that this funding is of huge benefit to all families. Please note, the government funding only covers BASIC childcare and education costs. To continue to offer our enhanced learning experiences, we have a “First Steps Inclusive Package” at a cost of £30 per day on funded days. (Please see First Steps Inclusive document for full information and breakdown). Funded hours are offered on a stretched offer only basis of either 10 or 20 hours per week. Additional days booked will be charged at the private rate.

IMPORTANT: The amount of government funding received per hour, reduces as your child’s age increases.

Have you ever wondered why childcare is so expensive?

A typical childcare setting will have huge overheads, such as rent/mortgage, utility costs. equipment costs, resources, business rates, salaries, training, professional licences and memberships, catering costs and more. As with everything at the moment those costs are rising, and therefore so are childcare fees.

In most nurseries the payroll is very high, due to the adult to child ratio needed, as well as rising minimum wages that push all the salaries higher, and increased pension contributions. At First Steps we employ a team of highly qualified childcare professionals who deserve to be paid above the minimum wage threshold. First Steps strives to provide the highest standards of childcare and education and is a privately owned company that must be sustainable and reasonably profitable to be commercially viable.
