🌺 Little Hands, Big Hearts
At First Steps Nursery, we believe even the smallest hands can help us remember the biggest heroes.
Last week, our children took part in a beautiful creative activity to mark Remembrance Sunday. With sleeves rolled up and paintbrushes ready, they explored the story of the poppy through colour, texture, and imagination.
🖐️ Handprint poppies bloomed across our art tables—each one unique, vibrant, and full of personality. The children loved feeling the squish of paint between their fingers and watching their handprints transform into petals.
🎨 We also created poppies on sticks to take home. These heartfelt artworks now decorate our nursery walls, reminding us all of the importance of kindness, peace, and remembering those who came before us.
It was a gentle way to introduce the meaning of Remembrance Sunday, sparking thoughtful conversations and plenty of proud smiles.
Thank you to our wonderful little artists for bringing such warmth and creativity to this special day.
